March 2016

HeadshotCan you believe it’s already March? Where have the past couple months gone? I’ll keep this one short and sweet, because there just aren’t enough hours in the day. We here at the Farm Bureau are keeping busy…We finished up with our CPR/First Aid Trainings, and are now headed into Ag Safety Trainings. Our first one will be later in the month, March 22nd to be exact. In April we will host another Agriculture Conservation Easement workshop, and in May we have our Beer and Wine Tasting to raise funds for our Scholarship fund, as well as another Safety Meeting focusing on Heat Illness and Slips/Trips/Falls and Back Safety. As for what else is going on, litigation continues on the Gunner Ranch Project, as we are waiting for the case to be transferred back to Madera from Tulare, and we are trying to stay afloat with the water issues. Keep an eye out for information regarding water meetings, and if you’re not farming in a water district (i.e. White Area) please call me, as we are trying to compile a list of all White Area growers. If anyone has any questions or would like more information about what’s been going on, please call the office. Happy March!
