President's Message

September 2013

Happy September! This time of year means harvest is in full swing and other than a lack of sleep things are going very well.
I hope everyone is having a good harvest as well. Most non-farmers can’t conceive of the idea that as farmers we have one short window to make all of our money for the next year. On top of that we lay out a huge amount of money to produce our crops and then wait for up to a year to get all of our money for our crops. But even so I would not trade farming for any other job that I know of –maybe one day I can pass on that passion to others as well.  Soon we can start praying for rain BUT not just yet.

On October 8th, the Madera County Farm Bureau will be hosting its annual meeting of members and I invite all of you to attend!  Lunch will be provided, as well as an update of all Farm Bureau activities.  It would be our pleasure to have you attend –please rsvp today!

See Ya
